Cheong Wa Dae

On the last day, we visited the residence of the Korean president: the Cheong Wa Dae. Also named the blue house for its unique roof color reserved for the highest rank in the country. After passing through many layers of tight security, we entered a beautiful garden still packed with man in suites with guns. Along precisely mowed lawn and beautiful ancient trees we slowly made our way toward the actual blue house. Pictures were only allowed to be taken in certain spots and in certain directions. Sadly, we were also not permitted to enter the house itself, despite the intro video showing shots of the interior. We did get to take a look inside a nearby assembly hall, designed for welcomig foreign guests and eventually left past a rather unusual monument. The city tour continued with Seoul tower, a quick stop in Nok-Du for a hair cut and changing clothes and finally some clubbing in Hongdae.
